Welcome to my Bugeye project

Welcome to my latest project. I am building a 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite with a little twist. I'm putting in a 3.0 V-6 SHO engine.
Be sure to check back for updates on the progress and please leave a comment if you have any questions, feedback or advice for me.
Ben...

The engine is out

I got that engine out of that car
so now i can put that engine into that car

Yeah i know it doesn't look like its going to fit...at all. But it will. I will make it fit....somehow.

But first i'm going to tear the engine apart and rebuild it.

and yes it was the hardest engine i've ever pulled. that thing had hidden brackets secured with 30 bolts, each 6 inches in length that were tightened at 180 torque pounds each. There wasn't a single "easy" thing holding that engine in that car. But thanks to Trevor, we got it pulled and its now on the engine stand in the garage waiting for the rebuild.

High performance=High torque=High bolt count!

Seeing them side by side, I...I...well, I don't know what to say!

This is getting really interesting/entertaining!

however, a bit heartwrenching for me to see the heart wrenched out of...(ok, sorry)- but it's done and I'll recover.
Good luck Ben, this is cool stuff.

You sure that's gonna fit? it's bigger than the car man.

yeah its big. downright huge.

not sure how its going to fit, but i believe it can and will.

we'll see if that belief is founded in any sort of reality in the coming months

Well, my brother-in-law suggested you could alway mount it up high...like those "Rat Fink" cars of...ahem, too young for that reference?
