Welcome to my Bugeye project

Welcome to my latest project. I am building a 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite with a little twist. I'm putting in a 3.0 V-6 SHO engine.
Be sure to check back for updates on the progress and please leave a comment if you have any questions, feedback or advice for me.

The engine disassembly

This weekend's plan was to tear into the engine and get the head sent out. It actually was much easier than anticipated and went very smoothly. The engine was taken apart Saturday night.

Everything looked OK for the most part. There were some pings in the number 1 cylinder on the piston and such as something had gotten in there and knocked around abit, but nothing major. There was also something on the number two cylinder i think. A scratch/gouge type of mark. deep enough that you could catch it with your fingernail so the block also went home with Trevor to his shop in Orange county to get looked at.

Loaded the engine and heads up into Trevors truck and off they went today. We'll see what comes of that number two cylinder if i need to get that taken care of or not.

Other than that, i spent the rest of the weekend cleaning up and such. Making a big mess of the garage and side yard. I need to finish getting the parts i need off of the Taurus so i can remove it from the side yard.

Next on the list:
Thinking about polishing up the intake before i get the engine back to reassemble. Its going to be a lot of work, but it looks so nice all shiny. Know anyone that polishes aluminum? I'd love to farm this job out.
